This socket tip is made to fit inside 1" pipe. It is made of bronze with a 3/8" threaded hole to accept the stainless steel harpoon iron. The socket can be held in place inside a 1" pipe by drilling and pining. A good epoxy can also be used. If you find that it won't quite fit in the pipe that you are using, try sticking the tip in the freezer overnight. Also if you need to pound it in the pipe, screw a 3/8 bolt in the hole and hit the head of the bolt. Do not hit the bronze tip directly, you will damage the threads.
