Tuna fishermen have learned that keeping the bar out of the water produces more bites. This is why green stick boats and boats trolling baits from kites are the most effective when the bite is slow. The canyon bar has been designed to improve your bait presentation by placing all the baits behind a lightweight titanium bar. The leader is designed to ride under the bar helping to raise the bar off the surface. The most effective way to fish these canyon bars is from your highest outrigger. Adjust the distance behind your boat so that the bar does not drag on the surface.

We offer these canyon bars in a variety of colors and squid sizes. The bars with 9 and 11 inch squid are mounted on 3 ft titanium bars. The 13 inch squid are mounted on a 4 ft titanium bar. All three sizes come in a storage bag. When ordering these bars please specify the size and color you want.

If you prefer to use large (18 in) squid we offer a canyon rig made with 10 large squid mounted on a 4 ft titanium bar. We have found that when using larger heavier squid, the 10 squid pattern is more effective. Placing 15 large squid on a titanium tens to overload the bar decreasing its effectiveness.
